Beverage-Air equipment we repair

Choose the equipment type for problem details and service information. Bastion Service is an independent repair company and is not affiliated with Beverage-Air.

Diagnosis first

What a service technician checks

Good diagnosis starts with the exact symptom, model, operating conditions, and service history. The technician tests the systems connected to the failure instead of replacing parts by guesswork.

  • Power, supply, and controls to confirm the machine can start and complete its normal sequence.
  • Airflow, water, heat, and movement as applicable to the exact equipment type.
  • Error history and model data before matching parts, manuals, or service information.

Model reference

Beverage-Air models and manuals

Use the model search to confirm that your equipment is listed. The model and serial label is still the final reference for service information.

Symptoms and care

Bastion Service repairs Beverage-Air equipment. These model and manual references help identify your equipment; symptoms alone do not confirm a diagnosis.

Manual candidates require the complete model, serial/build and installed controller to be checked. A specification sheet is not an operating manual. These references do not authorize installation or DIY repair.

Repair service only. New equipment installation is not offered.

KR / KF Reach-In Equipment3 topics Back to models and manuals

Family manual reference; manufacturer-authored third-party copy | Document: 809-046A

The cabinet is running warm

Warm storage does not automatically mean a failed compressor. Restricted airflow inside the cabinet, extended door opening, a defrost cycle, or a dirty condenser may affect temperature. Note when the temperature changed and whether the door has been closing properly. Keep stored items clear of internal air passages.

Long running cycles or new noise

Long running can have several causes, including an iced evaporator, a control problem, or a refrigeration-system fault. New rattling or vibration may involve mountings, tubing contact, or a fan. These symptoms call for diagnosis, not a parts guess. Internal electrical, fan, and refrigerant work belongs with a technician.

Plan care around the correct manual

The legacy KF/KR guide gives a three-to-six-month condenser and fan cleaning interval. Confirm that this edition applies to your unit before using that schedule. Arrange service for cleaning that requires access to internal components.

Keep the cabinet's cooling path clear

The legacy bar-equipment guide calls for condenser cleaning every six months, depending on usage. This is a reference for that guide, not a universal schedule for every Beverage-Air bar cooler. Use the complete model and serial number to identify the applicable instructions.

A BM23 has more than one place to check for drainage

The BM instructions distinguish the condensate pan from a separate bottle that collects waste drainage. Tell the technician where you see water rather than assuming every leak is a blocked condensate drain. The guide does not provide one fixed bottle-emptying schedule for all uses.

DP / SP Preparation Refrigeration2 topics Back to models and manuals

Family manual reference; manufacturer-authored third-party copy | Document: 809-049A Rev. B; operating sheet ILA-0800-REV. B

Identify the table before choosing its instructions

The legacy guide explicitly includes DP46, DP67, DP93, SP27, and SP60. Its refrigerator list does not establish coverage for UCR or WTR model numbers ending in A. That suffix matters when selecting service information.

Cleaning and routine care

For the listed legacy equipment, this edition recommends condenser and fan cleaning every three to six months. It also calls for periodic condensate-pan cleaning, without specifying a fixed interval. Use mild soap for routine surface cleaning and avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool. Internal cleaning and any electrical or refrigerant work should be arranged with a technician.

DW Deep-Well Bottle Coolers3 topics Back to models and manuals

Family manual reference; manufacturer-authored third-party copy | Document: 809-002A

Parts identity reference; manufacturer-authored third-party copy | Document: DW parts manual; 2002 cover; page 4 revised 01/11/2000

The bottles are warm, but the cooler keeps running

A cooler that runs for long periods is not identifying one failed part. Poor air circulation, a dirty condenser, an iced evaporator, or a control problem can contribute. Refrigerant-related faults are another possibility that requires testing. Note whether the problem is constant or changes during busy service, and keep exterior ventilation openings unobstructed. Do not adjust internal controls or attempt refrigerant work.

New rattling and water underneath need different checks

Rattling may come from a mounting, tubing contact, or a fan. Water near the base may require inspection of the drain path and condensate pan. Tell the technician where the water appears and whether the noise starts with the cooling cycle. Do not push wire into the drain or remove panels to reach moving components.

Maintenance should match this cooler's condition

Condenser and drain care should be part of the cooler's maintenance plan. Dust and spilled product affect what needs attention. Ask for a schedule based on the complete model, serial number, and operating environment rather than assuming that one cleaning interval fits every older DW cooler.

Use the complete equipment identity

Similar cabinet names do not make their operating instructions interchangeable. Keep the full model number, including its suffix, when requesting a manual or service. A photo of the data plate can help distinguish an older mix-storage cooler from a school-milk cooler and identify the information needed for diagnosis.

For MS equipment, report where drainage collects

The legacy MS guide describes a condensate pan with material that helps water evaporate. Residue from spilled product can remain in the drain path. If water collects around the cabinet, describe its location and any recent spills when requesting service. The drain and pan need inspection before calling it a refrigeration failure.

Keep ventilation and cleaning on the maintenance checklist

Keep the cabinet's exterior ventilation openings clear. Arrange for dirt and lint buildup at the condenser to be assessed during maintenance, and keep routine surface cleaning separate from work that requires opening the unit. Use the instructions matched to the complete model and serial number to set the service schedule. Internal electrical and refrigeration work requires a qualified technician.

Legacy Chest Freezers: 2SF-13, 4SF-13, 8DF-13 and 8FR-134 topics Back to models and manuals

Family manual reference; manufacturer-authored third-party copy | Document: 51-1371-04 | Issued: 2003-02

Warm cabinet, compressor not starting

A silent, warm cabinet does not establish compressor failure. Supply, thermostat, starting relay and wiring problems can produce that symptom. Record what happened before cooling stopped; leave internal electrical diagnosis to a technician.

A different cooling layout

These listed configurations release heat through the cabinet shell. Keep that space unobstructed. Do not apply another refrigerator's fan-coil cleaning routine without identifying the equipment. DI4 uses a different condenser arrangement.

Frost, drainage and cleaning

These are manual-defrost models. Plan alternative frozen storage before defrosting. Food debris can obstruct drainage. Avoid steam or excessive heat on plastic parts. For routine care, remove spills promptly, use a mild lukewarm detergent, then wipe and dry. Keep solvents and abrasives away from plastic surfaces. The reviewed care section does not establish a universal monthly service interval.

What to record for service

Have the complete model, serial number and a photo of any controller ready. This edition describes thermostat control; it does not provide a digital error-code table. A later controller needs its own documentation.

Maintenance

Prevent avoidable breakdowns

Maintenance intervals come from the instructions for the exact model and its operating conditions. Heavy use, heat, dust, grease, hard water, and poor ventilation can shorten the interval.

Keep airflow clear

Clean accessible filters and keep vents, coils, and surrounding space free of dust, grease, boxes, and fabric.

Watch for early changes

Longer cycles, unstable temperature, new sounds, leaks, and repeated error messages are reasons to schedule service before a shutdown.

Use the exact instructions

Cleaning products, procedures, filters, and intervals vary by model. Follow the manufacturer instructions for the exact equipment.
