Supported equipment

Frymaster equipment we repair

Choose the equipment type for problem details and service information. Bastion Service is an independent repair company and is not affiliated with Frymaster.

Diagnosis first

What a service technician checks

Good diagnosis starts with the exact symptom, model, operating conditions, and service history. The technician tests the systems connected to the failure instead of replacing parts by guesswork.

  • Power, supply, and controls to confirm the machine can start and complete its normal sequence.
  • Airflow, water, heat, and movement as applicable to the exact equipment type.
  • Error history and model data before matching parts, manuals, or service information.

Model reference

Symptoms and care

Bastion Service repairs Frymaster fryers. These model and manual references help identify your equipment; symptoms alone do not confirm a diagnosis.

Manual candidates require the complete model, serial/build and installed controller to be checked. A specification sheet is not an operating manual. These references do not authorize installation or DIY repair.

Repair service only. New equipment installation is not offered.

FilterQuick FQG30U easyTouch3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8197521 | 09/2026 | GAS

FQG30U heating and recovery concerns

A fryer that will not heat and one that heats too slowly need different checks. The FQG30U chart includes drain closure, the gas supply path and combustion-air blower conditions. Report abnormal ignition sounds and stop using the affected unit. Burner adjustments and gas-system testing require qualified service.

A filtration question is not always a fault

IS VAT FULL? can appear during a normal filtration sequence. Note whether it repeats during cooking or follows poor oil return. FILTER BUSY can mean another operation is still active. Neither message proves a bad pump; filter preparation, seals and restrictions need to be distinguished without disturbing a hot-oil cycle.

Separate daily care from periodic cleaning

This edition calls for daily condition and filtration checks, deep cleaning at least monthly, and pre-filter attention every 30 days or sooner if flow slows. These are separate tasks for trained staff using the correct procedure. Do not clean during frying or introduce water into hot oil.

FilterQuick FQE30U easyTouch3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8197522 | 08/2026 | ELECTRIC

Heat demand without electric heating

An illuminated heating indicator does not confirm power at the heating circuit. Supply, sensing and control faults need to be separated. If the fryer continues heating to its high limit, stop use and report whether the heat indicator stayed on. Do not test live terminals or repeatedly reset the limit.

Slow return versus a stopped filter pump

When the pump runs but return is slow, filter media, pan preparation and seals are relevant checks. A pump that stops has a different supply, thermal-protection or obstruction path. Tell the technician which behavior occurred; leave hot-oil handling and any reset decision to trained personnel.

FQE30U care and seal checks

The FQE30U schedule separates daily care, at-least-monthly deep cleaning and quarterly filter-connection seal attention. Confirm the installed connection and correct part before seal replacement. Cleaning belongs outside frying operations, with the manufacturer preparation procedure followed; water and hot oil must never mix.

FilterQuick FQG60T easyTouch3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8197703 | 09/2026 | GAS

FQG60T heat loss is not a parts diagnosis

This gas edition includes oil-level float and ignition-module conditions in its no-heat chart. Slow recovery has a separate gas-pressure context. Record the complete model and the operating stage when heat stopped. Do not bypass the oil-level safeguard, open gas fittings or adjust pressure to test a theory.

Startup cycling and persistent warnings differ

Repeated heating on and off can belong to the documented melt cycle. A persistent recovery warning needs service assessment using this gas edition, not another fryer family's timing limit. Overtemperature or high-limit warnings are stop-use conditions, not ordinary startup behavior.

The oil-saddle option has its own schedule

For an equipped FQG60, this manual specifies oil-saddle reservoir care every two months. Pre-filter attention is every 30 days or sooner with slow flow; filter-connection seals have a quarterly interval. Confirm the reservoir option and filtration assembly first. These intervals do not apply automatically to other FilterQuick families.

FilterQuick FQE60U easyTouch3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8197624 | 08/2026 | ELECTRIC

FQE60U overheating needs a controlled shutdown

The electric troubleshooting chart distinguishes high-limit trips with and without a heat indication. Sensing, control and contactor paths can differ between those observations. Stop using an overheating fryer and describe what the display showed. The symptom alone is not enough to select a replacement part.

Identify the operation behind an oil-return complaint

Record whether the problem is slow oil return or a repeated vat-full question. The first can involve filter preparation, seals or a pre-filter restriction; the question also needs its cycle context. Check the actual vat condition safely rather than confirming a prompt without knowing whether it is true.

Keep FQE60U cleaning tied to its controller

Deep cleaning is specified at least monthly, pre-filter care every 30 days or sooner for reduced flow, and filter-connection seal attention quarterly. Use the procedure for the installed controller and filtration system. This schedule is not permission to open a hot filter or begin cleaning while cooking.

FilterQuick FQG80T/100T/120T easyTouch3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8197638 | 09/2026 | GAS

Large-vat gas heating needs its own chart

The FQG80T/100T/120T gas chart separates loss of heat from slow recovery and abnormal ignition. The supply path, ignition module and gas-pressure conditions are possible diagnostic areas, not confirmed failed components. Stop use for abnormal ignition or overheating; qualified personnel must evaluate the gas system.

Confirm the filter assembly before choosing media

Poor oil return can involve filter preparation, seals or a restriction. This large-vat edition includes envelope wording, so a generic paper-or-pad instruction is not enough. Identify the fitted assembly and record when the vat-full prompt appears. Do not substitute media or disturb a hot filter to experiment.

Large-vat cleaning and inspection are different jobs

Daily condition checks and at-least-monthly deep cleaning are distinct from the manual's annual inspection recommendation. Its annual work specifies a factory-authorized servicer; that is a manufacturer requirement, not a Bastion credential. Confirm the exact cleaning procedure and installed equipment before planning either task.

FilterQuick FQE80U/FQE100U easyTouch3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8197782 | 08/2026 | ELECTRIC

FQE80U/FQE100U temperature complaints

For these electric families, lack of heat and heating that continues to the high limit are different service symptoms. The indicator state helps distinguish the chart's sensing, control and contactor paths. Shut down an overheating unit and arrange diagnosis instead of repeatedly resetting it or assuming an element has failed.

Slow filtration is not automatically a motor fault

A running pump with poor return calls for attention to the fitted filter system, pan preparation, seals and restrictions. A vat-full question also needs the cooking or filtration context. Describe the sequence and affected vat; hot pre-filter access and internal pump work are not customer troubleshooting steps.

Plan the distinct electric-family care intervals

The schedule includes daily care, pre-filter attention every 30 days or sooner when flow slows, and quarterly filter-connection seal checks. Keep the installed media and connection requirements with those tasks. Only trained staff should follow the applicable cleaning procedure, away from active frying and hot oil.

Pro H55-Series3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8195991 | 09/2026 | GAS

H55 heat demand without ignition

On the H55, a demand for heat without ignition can involve drain position, gas supply, combustion air or control wiring. Slow recovery and popping at ignition have separate chart entries. If ignition produces popping or other abnormal behavior, stop using the affected fryer and arrange qualified service. Do not adjust a burner or repeat ignition attempts to reproduce the symptom.

The H55 control determines the care checklist

Daily condition and cabinet checks, weekly frypot cleaning and monthly control-specific checks are not interchangeable. The monthly items depend on analog or CM III.5 controls. Semiannual gas-system work has additional configuration limits, including a non-CE vent item; it is not a general operator maintenance task.

Prepare the control identity as well as the model

Record the complete H55 model, installed control and what happens when heat is requested. Those details help select the appropriate document and troubleshooting path. For cleaning, trained personnel must follow shutdown and cooling requirements. Never add water to hot cooking oil or begin cleaning while frying.

Master Jet atmospheric MJ35 / MJ45 / MJCF / J1C3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8196003 | 03/2026 | GAS

Master Jet prolonged melt operation

The atmospheric Master Jet charts separate electronic controls from thermostat controls. A prolonged melt cycle can lead to different checks in each: sensing or controller conditions in one, a melt switch or circuit board in the other. Identify the fitted control before interpreting the symptom.

Quarterly cleaning is not the H55 weekly schedule

This edition specifies daily care and filtration, a weekly recovery check on equipped units, and quarterly frypot cleaning. MJ45 and MJCF do not share one recovery criterion. The semiannual manifold-pressure check belongs to qualified service. Do not substitute another Frymaster family's schedule.

Keep the atmospheric series and hot-oil limits clear

The reference cover groups MJ35, MJ45, MJCF and J1C; it does not make every control or unit identical. Provide the data plate and control details when requesting help. Cleaning must be separated from cooking, with the correct cooling procedure followed to prevent water contacting hot oil.

RE Series E43 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8196149 | 03/2026 | ELECTRIC

RE E4 loss of heat after filtration

Loss of heating after a filter cycle may involve the drain interlock. Other no-heat paths include sensing, a contactor, an element or wiring. Report the timing and heat-indicator state. Stop using an overheating fryer; those observations guide testing but do not prove which part should be replaced.

CYCL describes a particular melt-cycle context

The RE E4 manual describes CYCL in the CM III.5 melt-cycle context. It is not, by itself, a failed-element diagnosis or a universal display message for every installed control. Record the controller identity and whether the concern is startup cycling, persistent lack of heat or overheating.

Monthly calibration is control-specific

Daily cabinet and filter care is separate from weekly frypot, element and accessory cleaning. Monthly calibration applies to the analog control in this edition. Qualified electrical inspection is a different task. Follow the correct cooling and cleaning procedure, without live measurements or water exposure to hot oil.

High Production RE (HPRE) E43 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8196552 | 03/2026 | ELECTRIC

HPRE electric heating and filtration are separate paths

A controller that will not start, a drain-related condition and loss of heat despite an indicated demand need different checks. A stopped filter pump has its own supply, thermal-protection or obstruction possibilities. Describe which function failed instead of treating every symptom as a heating-element problem.

OPEN DRAIN depends on the fitted controller

The HPRE table uses OPEN DRAIN with CM4-S, K3000 and KFC-1 controls, while another control group uses HELP. Drain or latching circuitry may be involved, but the message does not identify a failed part. Supply a photo or exact description of the control without opening its enclosure.

Daily HPRE care is not an electrical inspection

The daily schedule covers the cabinet, filter pan and accessories. Annual inspection includes electrical and safety-system work for qualified personnel, not a list of live tests for kitchen staff. Preserve the manufacturer's qualification requirements; the manual does not establish any service company's credentials.

OCF30 electric3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8196685 | 03/2026 | ELECTRIC

OCF30 electric top-off and filter-return complaints

Automatic top-off can be affected by supply level, temperature, sensor-area debris or an existing service error. Slow return through the filter has different pan, seal and oil-condition checks. Record which operation failed and the displayed message; do not remove hot filtration parts to test a guess.

WAIT FOR FILTER and recovery warnings differ

WAIT FOR FILTER can describe an earlier function still in progress. RECOVERY FAULT has a separate electric-edition context. Neither message is enough to diagnose a pump or heating component. A persistent warning needs assessment rather than repeated clearing or a timing value copied from the gas OCF chart.

Match OCF30 care to the installed control

Daily inspection and filter care, weekly frypot and element cleaning, and monthly checks for the listed 3000 or CM3.5 controls are separate schedule items. Use the appropriate controller procedure. Qualified annual inspection is not operator cleaning, and water must remain away from hot oil.

OCF FPGL30 gas3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8196687 | 09/2026 | GAS

FPGL30 gas heat loss needs operating context

For the gas FPGL30, no heat and slow recovery have supply and combustion-air considerations. Filtration and top-off complaints involve a different oil-supply, pan or temperature context. Record the failed operation and message; a heating warning is not an instruction to purge a line or replace an ignition component.

Gas OCF recovery does not use the electric limit

RECOVERY FAULT must be interpreted with this gas edition and the fitted control. Similar wording on electric OCF or FilterQuick equipment does not establish the same timing or cause. Keep a record of repeat warnings and arrange service assessment instead of adjusting settings to suppress them.

Gas-system checks have additional qualifications

The schedule separates daily care, weekly frypot cleaning and monthly checks for the specified controls. Semiannual gas work has configuration restrictions; the vent item excludes CE units. Pressure checks belong to qualified service. Trained staff should follow the cooling procedure before cleaning, never during frying.

1814 gas3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8196883 | 09/2026 | GAS

1814 gas pilot behavior matters

A pilot that will not ignite, one that will not stay lit and an unstable flame are different observations. The chart includes supply, contamination, thermopile-connection and draft conditions. Report what happens without repeated relighting, gas adjustments or disabling kitchen ventilation. Qualified testing is needed to identify the cause.

Filtration frequency depends on workload

The 1814 gas manual specifies daily cleaning and filtration, more frequent filtration under heavy use, and weekly frypot cleaning. Routine operator care is separate from gas and safety-system inspection. For inspection at least annually, Frymaster recommends a Factory Authorized Service technician. This is the manufacturer's qualification recommendation, not a claim that Bastion Service holds that status.

Keep gas testing and hot-oil handling out of DIY checks

Describe the pilot, burner and temperature symptoms before the service visit. Do not perform electrical tests, change regulator settings or move a fryer containing hot oil. Cleaning requires the correct shutdown and cooling procedure; water entering hot oil can cause severe splattering burns.

1814E electric3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8196887 | 03/2026 | ELECTRIC

1814E stopped pump versus poor return

A pump that will not start may involve its supply, motor protection or a blockage. A pump that runs with poor return has additional suction, media, seal and oil-temperature considerations. Report the difference and whether heating stopped after filtration; neither noise nor bubbles alone identify the failed part.

MLTCYCL is not a complete alarm list

The electric 1814E chart describes MLTCYCL as a melt-operation display. It does not establish a failure code or the behavior of a gas 1814. Record the installed controller and any separate warning; persistent no-heat or overheating needs assessment beyond identifying the startup state.

Keep electric element care separate from gas-tube care

Daily cabinet, filter-pan and crumb-tray care is separate from weekly frypot, element and accessory cleaning. Qualified annual inspection covers electrical components and the element mechanism. Use this electric edition's procedure with the fryer properly cooled, rather than borrowing instructions from an 1814 gas unit.

Decathlon D and HD3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8197001 | 09/2026 | GAS

Decathlon pilot, burner and temperature concerns

Pilot stability, weak burner performance and erratic temperature each have their own checks. This edition includes thermocouple and supply considerations; D and HD variants are not interchangeable adjustment configurations. Provide the full model and symptom. Leave pressure testing, regulator adjustment and internal diagnosis to qualified service.

The MasterFil assembly has a cleaning exception

Daily care and filtration, weekly frypot cleaning and annual qualified inspection have different purposes. The removable-parts washing instruction excludes the MasterFil envelope assembly and refers to separate guidance. Identify the fitted filtration system before cleaning; do not turn the schedule into permission to wash every filter assembly.

Prepare useful observations without unsafe testing

Note whether the pilot fails, burner output is weak or temperature becomes unstable. Those observations are useful without moving hot-oil equipment or testing energized circuits. Trained staff should use the proper cooling and cleaning procedure, with no water introduced into hot cooking oil.

Performance MJ40-MJ503 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8197397 | 09/2026 | GAS

MJ40-MJ50 controls change the diagnostic path

With electronic controls, prolonged melt operation can involve sensing or controller conditions. The thermostat chart takes a different temperature and calibration path. Its supply row excludes millivolt units. Identify the actual control before assuming every MJ40 or MJ50 uses the same checks.

Recovery checks and frypot cleaning have different intervals

This Performance edition separates daily filtration, a weekly recovery check on equipped controls, quarterly frypot cleaning and semiannual qualified manifold-pressure checks. Continuous use may require more frequent filtration. The weekly check is not a universal cleaning interval or a requirement to book weekly repair visits.

Provide the control type and keep cleaning safe

Supply the complete data-plate details and identify whether the unit uses electronic, thermostat or millivolt controls. Do not substitute another atmospheric fryer's troubleshooting chart based only on appearance. Cleaning must be outside cooking operations with the required cooling precautions; water contacting hot oil creates a burn hazard.

ESG35T3 topics Back to models and manuals

Official operation manual: 8197680 | 04/2026 | GAS

ESG35T: identify the pilot and thermostat context

The ESG35T reference covers pilot and thermostat operation rather than a digital alarm catalog. Provide the complete model and describe the observed behavior when requesting help. A spare-parts diagram is useful for identification, but it is not evidence that a particular part has failed or is available.

ESG35T routine cleaning and filtration

The operating section specifies daily cleaning, filtration at least daily and frypot cleaning at least weekly. These are separate routine-care tasks, not a schedule for replacing parts. Trained staff need the complete manufacturer procedure and its safety precautions, not just the interval. Use the linked operating instructions when planning care for this model.

Do not heat an empty fryer to test it

Dry firing can damage the frypot and create a fire hazard. Never run an empty unit as a heating test. An ignition or flame-loss concern should not become a repeated-relighting experiment; stop abnormal operation and have qualified service assess it.

Historical Frymaster GF14/GF40 literature8 topics Back to models and manuals

Historical Frymaster-branded 2002 millivolt operating reference; not assigned to current DEAN units | Document: 819-5887 / MAR 2002

Earlier-build service and parts reference; printed IOM cross-reference discrepancy retained; no parts-fit approval | Document: 819-5888 / APR 2002

Service and parts reference for January2008 and later builds; not a serial decoder or interchangeability approval | Document: 8196438 / 04/2025

The build date changes the service reference

GF14 and GF40 service literature separates units built in January 2008 or later from earlier builds. Provide the complete nameplate and repair history before selecting a manual or replacement part.

Describe the symptom, not a borrowed error code

The reviewed GF14/GF40 design uses millivolt temperature controls. FilterQuick display-code lists are not its troubleshooting guide. Record whether the pilot stays lit and whether heating is absent, delayed or unstable.

Pilot keeps going out

Possible causes include drafts, pilot-system problems or faults in the safety-control circuit. Stop using a fryer with repeated pilot failure and arrange qualified service. Do not keep relighting it or bypass a safety device.

Delayed ignition or flames outside the burner area

Stop use and obtain qualified service. Ventilation, burner obstructions or gas-supply problems may be involved. Do not test by repeated ignition attempts, clear gas orifices yourself or alter ventilation to keep cooking.

Temperature does not follow the setting

Calibration drift and thermostat failure are different possibilities. Report the observed temperature and setpoint to the technician; turning internal adjustment screws is not an owner troubleshooting step.

Use the schedule for the matched edition

The 2002 manual separates daily checks, at-least-twice-daily filtration, quarterly frypot care and semiannual qualified gas-pressure checks. Have the technician confirm applicability to your build; do not copy another Frymaster family's schedule.

Keep water away from hot oil

Do not clean while cooking or while the pot contains hot oil. Never move a hot-oil-filled fryer. A blocked drain is not a reason to push tools into its front outlet; trained personnel must follow the safe draining procedure.

GF40 burner parts vary by generation

Earlier literature shows ceramic burner targets; the later service reference describes metal targets. The GF40 name alone does not establish which parts are fitted. Do not remove guards or parts to identify them yourself.

Historical H14/H17/H22: identification and care5 topics Back to models and manuals

Common Electric beginning with literal Series Code AN; CM III,basket lift timer, digital and analog options. Pre-Common,Navy,EPH,RE/HPRE and FilterQuick excluded; no model-only controller assignment | Document: 819-5473 / AUGUST 2002

Match the series and controls

These H14/H17/H22 references begin with series code AN. Confirm the nameplate and installed control before using them; the model name alone does not distinguish Common Electric from earlier equipment.

No heat after filtering

A drain safety switch prevents heating when the drain is not fully closed. Once normal filtering and refilling are complete, trained staff can check the drain handle position. Never bridge the switch or energize an empty pot.

Heating continues until the high limit trips

Stop use and arrange service. A probe, controller or contactor may be involved, depending on the observed behavior. Note whether the heat indicator was on; do not repeat the overheating event to test it.

Daily care is not the whole maintenance schedule

This edition separates daily cabinet/filter care, weekly frypot and accessory cleaning, and an annual service inspection. Monthly calibration checks apply only to the analog control. Keep that distinction when planning maintenance.

Separate cleaning water from the oil system

Never clean during frying or with hot oil in the pot. Do not send water or boil-out solution through the oil filtration system. Dry cleaned parts thoroughly, and follow the matched manual for safe end-of-day crumb disposal.

H14/H17/H22 Common Electric,Series Code AN scope; CM III only, not analog, basket timer or other controllers | Document: 819-5473 / AUGUST 2002

CYCL during startup

CYCL identifies the CM III melt cycle. Controlled on-and-off heating at startup is not automatically a fault. Do not bypass the cycle to diagnose a heating problem; report behavior that persists unexpectedly.

Common Electric: HELP,HOT and Prob2 topics Back to models and manuals

H14/H17/H22 Common Electric,Series Code AN scope; CM III,basket lift timer or digital controller only, not analog controls. HI remains unassigned and excluded | Document: 819-5473 / AUGUST 2002

HELP remains on the display

HELP can concern an open drain or the latching circuit. If the drain is fully closed and the message remains, request service. It does not identify one failed component by itself.

HOT or Prob needs service

HOT concerns excessive temperature; Prob concerns temperature sensing. Shut the fryer down and obtain qualified service. Do not clear the warning by repeated resets or replace the controller as an owner test.

Common Electric: Lo observations1 topic Back to models and manuals

H14/H17/H22 Common Electric,Series Code AN scope; CM III or digital controller only, not analog or basket lift timer | Document: 819-5473 / AUGUST 2002

Lo after startup or loading

Lo can appear while warming up or briefly after a large frozen load. If it persists, record the display and heat indicator for the technician. Do not assume that a lit indicator proves the elements are heating.

Common Electric: equipped filtration1 topic Back to models and manuals

H14/H17/H22 Common Electric,Series Code AN scope; built-in filtration equipment only,no filtration configuration inferred from model string | Document: 819-5473 / AUGUST 2002

Filter pump runs but oil returns slowly

Filter-media placement, seals, blockage or unsuitable oil condition can affect return flow. Report whether the pump runs and whether flow is absent or slow. Do not reach into hot equipment, force a blockage or repeatedly reset the pump.

Maintenance

Prevent avoidable breakdowns

Maintenance intervals come from the instructions for the exact model and its operating conditions. Heavy use, heat, dust, grease, hard water, and poor ventilation can shorten the interval.

Keep airflow clear

Clean accessible filters and keep vents, coils, and surrounding space free of dust, grease, boxes, and fabric.

Watch for early changes

Longer cycles, unstable temperature, new sounds, leaks, and repeated error messages are reasons to schedule service before a shutdown.

Use the exact instructions

Cleaning products, procedures, filters, and intervals vary by model. Follow the manufacturer instructions for the exact equipment.
